Seeing something is not the same thing as looking at it. To see something or somebody you have to engage with it. Seeing is a dialogue.
Most objects in modern life are meant to be looked at. I make objects to be seen.
They are not meant to blend in seamlessly with your home decor. They do not recede to the background.
